| The Shakespeare Collection derives its
name from the carved diamond or lozenge motif that decorates
its doors. A design like this, with its central flowers, appears
on Shakespeare's crib on display in Stratford on Avon, where
he is believed to have been born in 1564. |

| The diamond design is coupled with fluted
carving on rails and drawer fronts which has its origins in
classical architecture and was used on furniture from 1550 onwards.
The details are complemented with geometric leaded light glass
door design, ring handles and cock's head hinges. |
